Implant Solutions
In 1990, when Dr. Frydman first received his training in restoring dental implants, this field was in its infancy. The long term university studies proving their safety and effectiveness were not yet completed and although their safety and reliability were not yet proven, their success and potential were apparent.
What are Dental Implants?
Just as your teeth have roots that are anchored in your jawbone, dental implants are titanium anchors that are fused even more solidly in your jaws. These anchors allow us to place anything from a single crown to a full set of teeth that are fixed in place and never move.
What experience does Dr. Frydman have in Implant Dentistry?
Dr. Frydman has been restoring difficult implant cases since 1990 and has almost 10 years of experience in implant surgery placement. In more difficult cases, Dr. Frydman has worked as a team with a wide number of Oral Surgeons throughout Fairfield County to treat the most difficult cases.
Am I a candidate for Dental Implants?
Many people feel that they may have medical conditions or are too old that prevent them from benefiting from dental implants. Interestingly that is often false. Many patients suffering from many medical conditions are able to easily sustain dental implant procedures. Most all patients in good health, no matter their age are candidates for dental implants. As a matter of fact, patients who smoke are more often convinced not to have implants compared to older patients. We encourage you to consult with Dr. Frydman, who will carefully explain the process to you.
TYPES OF DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENTS
Implant Supported Crowns
In earlier years the loss of a single tooth would leave few options for replacement. A removable single tooth is not as comfortable as having your own tooth and is often uncosmetic. A fixed bridge involves grinding of adjacent teeth in front and behind the missing tooth. A single implant replacing a tooth with a crown filling the empty space is a fixed option and a great long term solution for losing a tooth.
Implant Supported Bridges
The same is true for the loss of multiple teeth. By placing two or more implants, we can replace a section of missing teeth in a fixed, non-removable bridge that is both cosmetic, functional and most importantly feels like the teeth you have been missing.
Permanently Fixed Implant Supported Dentures
Just a few implants can replace all your teeth in on arch of teeth. These cases produce dramatic changes to the lives of people who have lost all their teeth and feel they are doomed to always wear removable dentures.
Removable Implant Supported Dentures
Patients who wear dentures do not realize answers exist for those dentures that will not stay in place. By placing as few as two implants, we can fit attachments to their present dentures that allow snap-on stability. This highly affordable option is of great value to any denture wearer.
As we get older, many of us experience so many destructive forces and changes to our teeth:
- Loss of teeth
- Crumbling of our teeth due to large fillings that are failing
- Sever wear and fractures of teeth due to wear
- Old worn or chipping crowns
- Discolored teeth
- Movement of teeth causing gaps or teeth that aren’t straight anymore
All these combined add to a person’s loss of self-esteem, changes in speech pattern and even loss of enjoyment in eating.
We hear your concerns and will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your conditions. Many options exist to restore you to a new condition. After carefully reviewing treatment options and your finances, we can arrive at a plan in which you are restored to a cosmetic and pleasing result. Give us a call and see what we can create for you!
